Your information, and what we do with it.

We know who reads this page. You may be looking for a bed for yourself, or for someone you love, and you may not want anyone to know you were here. So this page is written plainly, and it lists every outside company that sees anything at all.

If you fill in the inquiry form

The form on our home page asks for your name, your email address, an optional phone number, and a message. When you press send, that information is delivered to Doug at DougC@TheGraduateHouse.com.

It travels there through a company called Web3Forms (web3forms.com/privacy), which is a form relay — an outside service that receives the form and forwards it to us by email. We want you to know that, because whatever you write in that box passes through their system on the way to ours. If you would rather not use the form, call or text 617-763-2716, or email us directly. A phone call reaches us without passing through anyone.

We keep inquiries in our email so we can follow up with you. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass your message to any other sober house, treatment center, or referral service.

Counting visits

We count how many people read each page, so we know which pages are useful. We use Umami (umami.is/privacy) for this. It does not use cookies (small files a website stores on your device to recognize you later), it does not follow you to other websites, and it does not tell us who you are. We see numbers, not names.

The other companies involved

Loading any web page means your device contacts the computers that serve it. On this site, that is:

• Vercel — the hosting company that serves these pages. Like any web host, its servers record the internet addresses that request pages.
• Google Fonts — the typefaces on this site are loaded from Google's servers, which means Google's servers see the internet address of your device when a page loads. Google states it does not use these requests to build advertising profiles. We are looking at serving the fonts from our own site so that Google is not involved at all.
• Cloudflare and jsDelivr — two content delivery networks (services that store copies of common website files close to you so pages load faster). Their servers see the internet address of your device.

Links on this site to Instagram, Facebook, Alcoholics Anonymous, SAMHSA and government pages are ordinary links. Nothing is embedded from those companies, and they learn nothing about you unless you click through.

What we will never do

• We will never sell, rent, or trade your information.
• We will never confirm to anyone that you contacted us — not to family, not to an employer, not to anyone — unless you tell us to.
• We will never put an advertising tracker on this site.
• We will never publish a resident's name, photograph, or story without that person asking us to.

Residents of the house

This page is about the website. Information about the men who live here is handled separately and far more strictly, under federal confidentiality rules for substance use disorder records (42 CFR Part 2) and our own house policy. It is never part of this website.

Children

This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Asking us to delete something

If you sent us an inquiry and want it deleted, email DougC@TheGraduateHouse.com or call 617-763-2716 and say so. We will delete it and confirm that we have. You do not have to give a reason.

Changes to this page

If we add or remove any of the companies listed above, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
